Supporting those who risk it all to rescue others.
Firefighters are never alone. We are brothers and sisters from across the state, coming together to form a support network for the mental and physical health of our fellow firefighters with trained assistance. We’ve been where you are, and understand your battles. We’re here to answer your call.
No firefighter is the same, or has the same story, but together we’ve battled everything. We have a large group of volunteers that have walked your walk and are eager to help. We're here for you if and when you're ready to talk to someone and we encourage everyone to reach out for assistance.
However, sometimes you may find you’re just not ready to talk. If this describes where you’re at, please take a few minutes to look through our self-help options at the six links below. These resources can help you to identify problems and offer self-help goals to help fix them.
Whether you are on active duty or retired, we’ll match you with a firefighter who has walked in your shoes. Talk to someone who knows your experiences firsthand.
RequestSometimes a whole shift or crew is reacting to an event. We have a group of firefighters that can come out usually within 48-96 hours that will help lead a healthy discussion, which is the first step towards healing.
RequestLet us come out and talk about what ILFFPS is all about. We will discuss the benefits of peer support as well as how the work of a first responder affects us all.
RequestYour loved ones are on this journey as well. If you would like to plan an event that includes the families of first responders we can help.
RequestNot from Illinois? Want to start a peer support team? Let us know, we can help you get started.
